The Jules Ferry Hostel has the best location of the five Paris Hostelling International (HI) properties, just a few blocks from the Place de la République and the charming Canal St-Martin. The accommodations themselves are bare-bones and charmless, but its convenient setting makes it worth considering for those loyal to the HI affiliation.
All of the Jules Ferry's 99 beds are housed in dorms that hold between four and six people and share bathrooms. You won't find much style or modern comfort here, and, in guest reviews, most agree that the facilities could use a renovation.
The Jules Ferry does offer a few perks. Linens are included and lockers are available, as is a luggage storage room. Common facilities include a guest kitchen, laundry facilities and a TV room.
Breakfast is included in the rate. Internet access is available for an extra fee.
