The Basics: Hostel des 2 Empereurs email this page
Open since 1948, the Hostel des 2 Empereurs (also known as the Centre International BVJ Paris-Louvre) knows what it's about—cheap, no-frills accommodations located right in the heart of Paris. If you need a simple, central home base for sightseeing, this is a great choice.
The 2 Empereurs is big—it counts over 210 beds in mostly dormitories, though some doubles are available. All rooms are very basic and come with only a sink in addition to the beds. Bathrooms are all shared.
Some common facilities are available, including a free luggage room. To store your valuables in a locker, though, you'll have to pay an extra €2. The Hostel des 2 Empereurs also offers vending machines and phone booths.
Breakfast is included in the bed rate and Wi-Fi is offered in the lobby for a fee.
Note that the Hostel des 2 Empereurs is a youth hostel, and only offers accommodation to those between the ages of 18 and 35.

About the Hostel des 2 Empereurs neighborhood
On the Right Bank of the Seine, the area near the Louvre is high-class and intellectual. In addition to hosting the world-class museum, the hood is home to the French stock exchange and the Bibliotheque National. A few quiet and leafy areas, such as the Jardin de Tuilleries, balance out the high-brow ambience.
