In an alluring Upper East Side neighborhood, near all major museums, is Wanderers Inn East. In an old, austere brownstone, things outside are brightened up by a garden, more fertile than most hotel courtyards we've seen in the city.

The dorms are cheery with standard metal bunks, lockers (remember your own locks!) and high ceilings. Most dorms have an interior shared bathroom, and the others have sinks and mirrors. Wanderers Inn also offers private rooms which are crisp and clean with en suite toilets.

The common room is decked out in exposed brick and the kitchen is spacious and well-equipped. It comes with a large dining table which is perfect for making friends over free breakfast.
