The Janson Hotel, located just outside Amsterdam’s canal ring, but near the Van Gogh Museum and within walking distance of Vondelpark, is a budget hotel that offers cheap bunks too.
Dorms come with linens and can sleep anywhere from two to 20 per room. For a more private experience (mostly twins and triples), you must book all the beds in a room. Some rooms have shared bathrooms and others are en suite. Breakfast is included in the rate.
There’s a supermarket nearby and the hotel has a 24-hour reception desk where guests can rent bicycles or book tours.

About the Janson neighborhood
The Museumplein is a residential area crowded with 19th-century buildings and lots of museums, including the famous Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, and the Stedelijk Museum. The hood's other big attraction is the Vondelpark, famous for its status as a wild, drug-friendly hangout in the 70s. Today, the area is decidedly more upscale, with lots of expensive stores lining the streets.
