Located within easy walking distance of both the Colosseum and the Spanish Steps, the Ivanhoe Hostel is a larger-scale party hostel offering dorms with up to 12 beds in central Rome. In addition, there’s lots of common space here where you can kick up your heels after a day of sightseeing.

Be forewarned if you plan to get a quiet night’s rest: the management here explicitly states on their web site, “If you are looking for a place to go to bed early, this is not your place!” If you can handle the action, you can expect a room equipped with air conditioning, free Internet access and linens. The hostel also promises “comfortable beds” on which you can sleep off the hangover. Most dorms have a shared bathroom, but a few offer en suite facilities.

The hostel boasts a guest kitchen, a party-friendly common room and a free drink offer upon arrival. Breakfast can be purchased for €2. Guests must be between the ages of 18 and 35. There’s no curfew.
