The Cecil Hotel proved to be a great place for our short stay in Athens. We had a double room for 3 nights in mid-June. The room was clean, well-apportioned, and even had a view of the Acropolis. The hotel itself is in a very good location--safe and close enough to Monastiraki station. It was easy to get from the hotel down to the station and then on to Piraeus for an early morning ferry. When we let the front desk know that we would be leaving early (6 a.m.) for the ferry, they even arranged to have the included breakfast set-up for us at that time--an hour an a half ahead of the usual schedule. It was a very nice touch, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay at this hotel again.
