If what you’re looking for in a Prague hotel is loads charm or amenities, turn back now, this is not your choice. However, if you’re looking for a clean, central and, most importantly, cheap place to lay your head—and don’t mind sacrificing the extras&mdashthen the Emma may be your place.

Rooms, both dormitory and private, are basic, with hardwood floors and off-white walls. Neither option provides you with much more than a bed. Privates come with a small wardrobe to hang your clothes, while dorms are equipped with lockers. All bathrooms are shared.

The common areas provide a few more amenities than the bedrooms. A shared kitchen is available, as well as complimentary tea and coffee (but no breakfast). Wi-Fi is free throughout.

The Hostel Emma is popular with backpackers, students and bargain hunters. From here, it's a 15-minute walk to Old Town Square and a 10-minute walk to Wenceslas Square.
