Bruges neighborhoods
Market Square & Burg
Market Square sits in the very center of town and boasts many of Bruges’ main attractions, including the belfry tower. The area is also home to numerous restaurants and cafes.
Just east of Market Square is Bruges’ town square is the Burg. Here you’ll find many museums, chocolate shops, restaurants, and the city’s town hall. This area is especially tourist-friendly, with stores and horse-drawn cabs competing for business.

St. Anna
This neighborhood is remarkable for its churches, including the gothic St. Anne’s Church, located northeast of the town square, and the Jerusalem Church with its pretty stained-glass windows. Other attractions of note are Bruges’ Lace Center and museum as well as the 18th-century Sint-Janshuysmolen windmill, which is still in operation. For a picturesque walk, stroll canal-side along Sint-Annarei and wander the cobblestoned streets.

St. Gilles
A five-minute walk north of Market Square, the St. Gilles neighborhood is a quiet area best known for the 15th-century St. Gilles Church and its ancient paintings and pipe organ. The hood is also home to St. Gilles Square and a number of budget-friendly accommodation options.
