The Basics: Youth Hostel Nikolaus Glockenhaus email this page
Located near the Buchsenhausen Castle just north of Innsbruck's city center, the Youth Hostel Nikolaus Glockenhaus (formerly Pension Glockenhaus) is a family-owned hostel that's within walking distance of many Old Town sights. And here's a fun fact: Glockenhaus actually means "house of bells." The hostel's home base, built in the 1500s, was once part of a castle then a gun and cannon factory until it was eventually a bell-making facility.
Today, simple rooms and dorms (linens included) are well kept by a family that's been in business for 30 years. The hostel can accommodate up to eight guests.
Breakfast is not included. Towels are available for hire and luggage storage and the use of a safety deposit box are provided. The Glockenhause does not have a curfew.
